ok seriously if you didn’t think steven moffat had gone horribly mad with power before, let’s take a moment to think about the fact that this man is planning on single-handedly rendering the title of a 50-year-old national treasure obsolete by giving the main character a name he was never meant to have
I could imagine he desperately wants to be the one to reveal the doctor’s name. I think that idea would match his huge ego. Or maybe it’s just to get everyone excited and to watch the show (even tho Doctor Who doesn’t need that I think)
